So our boy Tincture has just jetted off to Tokyo for a year! For those who missed it last week, his Usher remix was dropped in a mixtape by a fave of ours XXYYXX. If you haven’t heard him, here’s a track from his split EP with RuddyP.

Above is one of 35 AMAZING Tracks from last year’s Red Bull Music Academy. For those who aren’t familiar with the Academy, it’s a yearly collaborative learning program for a wide range of DJs, Producers, Musicians etc. The 2011 Academy was held in Madrid and had guest lectures from MF DOOM, Kode 9, Scuba, Clams Casino, Erykah Badu and everyone cool ever.

This year’s Academy is being held in New York from the 30th of September to the 2nd of November. The program is focused more on people who truly have a passion for music and are always seeking new ideas and inspiration. You don’t have to be able to play an MPC like AraabMuzik or shred synths like Dorian Concept. It’s all about learning from one another and developing as an artist.

The catch is that Applications are about to close. You have until April 2nd to apply for this amazing opportunity to learn with some of the greatest names in electronic music.

The 35 tracks from the Madrid are available as a free compilation which I really suggest you check out, the songs vary from the very relaxing to the most frantic footwork. There’s something for everybody, and it features some one-off collaborations that are simply unmissable.
